Sixton London is an independent brand founded and led by a husband-and-wife team with a background in fashion. Based in Stockwell, near Brixton in London, the brand’s name is a nod to its South London roots.
Their collections are inspired by a deep appreciation for colour and the vibrant local culture—from the legacy of David Bowie, a Brixton icon (reflected in their best-selling lightning bolt pin), to the intricate insect displays at the nearby Horniman Museum. All designs are created in their London studio and produced in South Korea, China, and India, with hand-finishing completed locally in London.
As a brand committed to responsible creation, Sixton London primarily uses recycled materials. Their handbags and make-up bags—including both exteriors and linings—are crafted from recycled polyester (rPET), a material derived from recycled plastic bottles, as well as recycled polyurethane and recycled nylon. They are currently working toward ensuring that their sock collection is also made using recycled materials, with a target set for the end of 2022.
They maintain close relationships with their manufacturing partners, which include a third-generation, family-owned sock factory and a producer of sustainable, vegan leather handbags. All manufacturing partners are evaluated according to the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct, ensuring compliance with ethical business practices, fair remuneration, non-discrimination, the prohibition of child labour, reasonable working hours, and occupational health and safety standards. Whenever possible, production is transported from overseas to the UK by train, a more environmentally friendly option with lower emissions.
Sixton London proudly supports charitable initiatives, including Buglife—a charity focused on protecting invertebrates and the ecosystems they sustain—and Trinity Hospice, a local London-based organisation providing end-of-life care.
