Bangini was founded in 2020 in Banos, France.
The aim was to bring colour and boho chic into people’s homes and wardrobes at affordable prices. Suzanne lives in the Landes, France, and as you can see from the photos in the gallery, it truly is a village collective! The gorgeous models are from Banos—usually farmers—and Suzanne likes to call them the “Landes Girls.”
Starting with local markets and pop-ups, Suzanne did what all passionate founders do: she worked to improve the quality and variety of the collection without sourcing from untrustworthy tailors. That’s how the journeys to India began.
Suzanne travels to India every year to visit all of Bangini’s suppliers’ workshops and tailors. It’s incredibly important for her to be able to say to clients, “I know who made this.”
Bangini uses natural fabrics and mostly natural dyes. The brand aims to upcycle and reuse saris and kanthas, slowing down the fast-fashion cycle. Bangini honours traditional techniques and deeply respects the people it works with. The tailors and artisans have become friends—and Bangini ensures they and their teams are paid fairly.
All products are made in Jaipur, India.
